Jackie VanDerMeulen focuses her practice on labour and employment law. She helps employers remain proactive in creating workplace policies that are responsive to employer and worker needs.
Jackie regularly advises employers on labour/employment strategy and compliance, responding to applications for certification, grievance arbitration, labour board matters and labour/employment issues that arise during corporate transactions/restructuring. Among other things, she has represented clients before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, Ontario Labour Relations Board, Canada Industrial Relations Board and Superior Court of Justice. Jackie is also a frequent speaker and writer on the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and human rights issues.
During her studies at McGill University and the University of Toronto, Jackie distinguished herself academically and was awarded the prize for highest standing in undergraduate economics. At law school, Jackie was active in student politics, volunteer organizations and numerous athletic groups.
